Golden Grass ( Capim Dourado) - The Plant is a unique grass, with a white flower on a golden stalk. It is found in the Jalapão region, in the state of Tocantins in Brazil. When the stalks of the plant reach maturity and become golden in color, they are then harvested. Skilled artisans use this durable natural material to make our beautiful and unique jewelry and crafts. It is extremely lightweight and has one of a kind gold shimmer. The art of weaving and sewing golden grass into crafts is believed to date back to the 1930’s and has been passed down from generation to generation in Brazil.
